What We Do
Language and education
Language is often the key to everything else — work, contacts, dealings with authorities, and a secure everyday life. We believe language is best learned through conversation, repetition and natural encounters with others, not only in a classroom.
Language café and spoken practice
Our language café is a meeting place where participants practise Swedish together in small groups, in a relaxed setting with no pressure to perform. Volunteers from the association are on hand to lead the conversations. All levels are welcome, from someone who has just started learning Swedish to someone who already speaks well but wants to feel more confident.
Guidance on education
Beyond language practice, we offer guidance on the routes available to further education, and help clarify what different educational options mean in practice. We are not a school or an education provider — we are an association that helps point people in the right direction.
Language in everyday life
We place great importance on connecting language practice to everyday situations — holding a conversation, understanding a letter from an authority, or feeling comfortable interacting with other people. That is the kind of language skill that makes the biggest difference day to day.
