About the guides: responsibility, sources and corrections

The guides are published by the Kurdish Friendship Association, a non-profit association active in Uppsala. The association is responsible for editing and publishing. The association has no permanent premises.

The guides are general information. The Kurdish Friendship Association is not the Swedish Migration Agency, the healthcare service or a legal advice bureau and gives no personal legal or medical advice.

Decisions in your case are always made by the competent authorities. For questions about your own case, contact the right authority, your public counsel or your representative.

Every important statement about laws, rights, healthcare or contact details should be traceable to an official source, for example the Swedish Migration Agency, Uppsala municipality, 1177 or the Riksdag. The sources are listed at the end of each guide.

Each guide shows when it was last fact-checked. Legal guides are re-examined regularly and immediately when rules change. We do not write that everyone has the same rights – rights depend on whether you are an asylum seeker, hold a residence permit, have temporary protection or are in another situation.

The images are real photographs with a documented licence. The photographer, licence and source are shown with each image. The images do not show the people or organisations a guide is about unless stated.

Swedish is the source version. English versions are checked against the Swedish text. Kurmanji, Sorani and Arabic are published only when a person with good language skills has reviewed the text – especially where rights and obligations are concerned. Until then the guide is shown in Swedish or English.

Information changes. If you find something that is wrong, out of date or hard to understand, write to us and we will correct it. Do not include personal details or details about your own asylum case.
